Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an Indian actress and also a model who appears in Tamil and Telugu films. She was born to Malayali and Telugu parents and in Chennai was brought up and during her late teens she pursued a career in modeling. Despite signing up in 2007 to Ravi Varman's film "Moscowin Kavery", her first film release happened to be the critically acclaimed Telugu romantic film named "Ye Maaya Chesave" which was directed by Gautham Menon in 2010. Later she has appeared in commercially successful and critically acclaimed Telugu movies like "Dookudu" and "Brindavanam". Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently working on more than 6-8 projects. She is shooting for "Eega" which is S. S. Rajamouli's live action project, as well as for Gautham Menon's trilingual project she is playing the female leading role in all three languages - Hindi, Telugu and Tamil and also shooting all the scenes three times with different co-actors. Samantha also signed for "Yevadu" which is a big budget film to be directed by Vamsi Paidipally, co-starring Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Ram Charan Tej that features Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh in the leading role. Her other upcoming projects in Telugu include Autonagar Surya under the direction of Deva Katta and Nandini Reddy's next co-starring Siddharth. Moreover Samantha has been chosen to portray the female leading role by Mani Ratnam in his next directorial "Kadal".
